U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service approved Santa Cruz activity; not equated to VCS 2842 area
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service ↗BlueMX Aztlán Blue Carbon Project
BlueMX’s Nayarit restoration sits within a wider Mexico mangrove programme. This Overview brings together the operator’s work, a public Santa Cruz restoration grant and the VCS record while keeping each area and activity distinct.

BlueMX’s public reporting spans a Mexican portfolio, a Nayarit grant and the specific VCS 2842 design. These sources describe related work but do not share one area denominator.

Inside the project
BlueMX describes conservation and restoration work across four Mexican states. The Aztlán mangrove conservation initiative it names for Nayarit is separate from this VCS 2842 restoration filing.
A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service grant names BlueMX Mangrove A.C. for hydrological rehabilitation and local training in Ejido Santa Cruz y Anexas. The grant’s activity area must not be assumed to equal the VCS activity-instance boundary.
The registry shows registration requested and zero issued credits. Its area, crediting end, annual estimate and Ejido count differ from the public PDD; the Project Design view keeps both readings visible.
Objectives
- Restore tidal exchange and mangrove cover
- Work through Ejido and community agreements
- Measure vegetation, biomass and soil carbon under the filed monitoring plan
Approach
- Rehabilitate channels and build raised chinampas
- Plant native mangroves and disperse propagules
- Use annual field plots and soil sampling for future monitoring
