Lep-lep
Lep-lep restores roughly 750 ha of severely degraded mangrove across the Sine Saloum and Casamance deltas of Senegal. The developer describes a triple standard (VCS, CCB, SD VISta); Verra's registry lists the project as an approved pipeline listing, still under development and not yet registered. Planting is reported complete and first credits are expected in December 2027.

Inside the project
Developed by Vlinder with partner We Build the Future, Lep-lep targets around 750 ha of severely degraded mangrove in two Senegalese deltas.
It shares its developer and triple-standard model with the Papariko project in Kenya, applying the same VCS, CCB and SD VISta stack.
Verra's registry lists VCS 3885 (proponent Vlinder Austria, methodology VM0033) with the status Pipeline listing (under development) approved, no registration date and no credits issued as of September 2026, for 750 ha and an estimated 355,000 tCO2 over 20 years from 2023.
Objectives
- Restore roughly 750 ha of severely degraded deltaic mangrove
- Maintain the triple standard across carbon, community and sustainable-development criteria
- Complete monitoring and verification toward first credits in December 2027
- Sustain community benefit through the We Build the Future partnership
Approach
- Lep-lep applies mangrove replanting under Verra VM0033, layered with CCB and SD VISta for community and sustainable-development co-benefits. Verification follows Verra registration (VCS 3885) achieved in December 2024, with planting complete.
- First issuance is expected in December 2027.
