Overview

Inside the project

An improved cook stove is an adaptation and improvement of the Lorena Cookstove, in a stove whose name "Patsari" means "the one who takes care of" in the Purépecha language.

Independent research reports a 50% reduction in fuel consumption and a 66% reduction in indoor air pollutants versus open fires, with 4,000 improved Patsari cookstoves disseminated by GIRA.
