Mozambique's REDD+ framework is Decreto n.º 23/2018, published on 3 May 2018, which approved the regulation for implementing REDD+ programmes and projects, created supervisory and scientific committees under the environment minister and revoked the 2013 approval procedures. Its current NDC is a provisional NDC 3.0 for 2026 to 2035, focused mainly on adaptation; its quantified mitigation contribution is being developed alongside a long-term low emissions strategy to 2050, after an updated NDC 2.0 that covered 2021 to 2025.
