Inside the project
DelAgua says its Tubeho Neza ("Live Well") programme has run since 2012 in partnership with the Government of Rwanda, with the goal of providing high-performance stoves to 2.3 million rural households.
Carbon credits fund the programme under two Verra grouped projects, VCS 4150 and VCS 3699. DelAgua describes it as the biggest clean cookstove project in the world by stove count, now paired with a water-filter component across Rwanda, The Gambia and Sierra Leone.
As viewed in September 2026, Verra's registry shows both grouped projects with a verification approval requested: VCS 4150, registered 15 February 2024, with 8,552,433 units issued, 401,051 retired and 2,906,291 cancelled; VCS 3699, registered 27 November 2024, with 2,692,966 units issued and 53,860 retired.
