What they do

Inside EarthRanger

EarthRanger ingests real-time data from collars, camera traps, ranger patrols and sensors to give protected-area teams a single operational view, used across more than 2,000 protected and conserved areas in over 100 countries.

On 9 October 2025 the SMART Partnership and EarthRanger announced SERCA, the SMART-EarthRanger Conservation Alliance, integrating the two most widely used conservation-management platforms into a single, free support system; EarthRanger keeps its name.

Under SERCA, SMART is to be phased out as its capabilities are folded into EarthRanger, which will be rebranded as SERCA, with development beginning in 2026.
