What they do

Inside ART / TREES

TREES certifies emission reductions and removals at the jurisdictional and national scale, and ART certification is the evidence basis for results-based finance mobilised by the LEAF Coalition.

Nearly a quarter of the world’s tropical forests now sit in jurisdictional REDD+ programmes on the ART Registry, with Bhutan and Bolivia bringing the total to 26 jurisdictions in 2025.

ART is upgrading to TREES 3.0 in 2026 with optional Beyond Carbon Benefits certification, and the registry, operated by Winrock’s Environmental Resources Trust, is migrating to ICE GreenTrace with developer APIs and serial-level audit trails.

Host, don’t absorb

How Straatos integrates ART / TREES

A jurisdictional host layer Straatos nests beneath rather than competes with; the GreenTrace migration makes it API-addressable from 2026.

01

Nest under jurisdictions

Feed Straatos project data upward so it reconciles with a jurisdiction’s TREES baseline and helps demonstrate within-boundary integrity.

02

Connect via GreenTrace APIs

Use the developer APIs arriving with the ICE GreenTrace migration to read issuance and retirement state for ART-listed jurisdictions.

03

Support Beyond Carbon Benefits

Route Straatos biodiversity and community-benefit evidence into the optional Beyond Carbon Benefits certification under TREES 3.0.
