UJALA (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All)

India's national LED-bulb distribution scheme, run by the state-owned Energy Efficiency Services Limited since 2015, uses a demand-aggregation price-crash model that drove the price of a bulb down from over Rs 300 to under Rs 40. It is billed by its own operator as the world's largest zero-subsidy domestic lighting programme.
