Sanergy (Nairobi organic and fecal-waste-to-value)

Operating 'Fresh Life' toilets across Nairobi's informal settlements, Sanergy collects human and organic waste and, in its funder Finnfund's words, co-composts waste with sawdust, other carbon sources, and effective micro-organisms to produce fertiliser, while separately feeding organic matter to black soldier fly larvae for animal-feed protein.
