Puente Gallego Landfill gas recovery project

A smaller sibling case in Argentina, at the Puente Gallego site near Rosario, was registered in September 2006 and is run by Italy's Asja Ambiente Italia. It reports 63,885 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in estimated annual reductions under the same AM0011 methodology family as Villa Dominico.

Overview

Inside the project

The project recovers landfill gas with electricity generation, where methane capture would not otherwise occur under baseline conditions.

Argentina's early and repeated appearance in the CDM landfill-gas registry, including Villa Dominico and Puente Gallego, reflects the country's early adoption of this project type in Latin America.
