Payatas Controlled Disposal Facility Methane Power Plant
At Manila's largest dumpsite in Payatas, Quezon City, a partnership beginning with a 2002 Quezon City Government/PNOC collaboration scaled up from a 2004 pilot into a full public-private partnership with Pangea Green Energy Philippines from 2007. The plant captures, collects, processes and flares landfill gas, using it to generate around 1.5 MW.

Overview
Inside the project
Generated electricity supplies the facility itself, streetlights, and nearby residential areas.
Cumulative reported emission reductions reach nearly 800,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent between 2008 and 2018; formal CDM registration for the plant is not confirmed.
