Myanmar Cookstove Initiative (CDM PoA 10471)
The UNFCCC's CDM registry lists PoA 10471, a programme coordinated by the Climate Change Center (CCC) to distribute improved cookstoves in Myanmar under methodology AMS-II.G, registered on 25 March 2019. The same registry shows a de-registration date of 10 April 2025, without giving a reason.

Inside the project
Press reports in February 2026 describe the programme's credits as the first approved under the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism (Article 6.4). The implementer's framing, as reported by France24, is that the stoves reduce harmful household air pollution and ease pressure on local forests.
REDD-Monitor, citing analysis by Plan 1.5, Carbon Market Watch and UC Berkeley, reports that Myanmar's environment ministry MONREC is controlled by the military junta and subject to EU sanctions, and that the credited reductions face allegations of potential seven-fold over-crediting.
Approach
- Distribution of improved cookstoves credited under AMS-II.G, the CDM methodology for energy efficiency in thermal applications of non-renewable biomass.
