Monpura Island Solar Mini-Grids
IDCOL, financed with UNDP, the Global Environment Facility and Bangladesh's Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA), built two solar mini-grids on Monpura Island, bringing round-the-clock electricity to 1,199 households, 684 shops and 41 institutions that previously had none.

Overview
Inside the project
UNDP frames the achievement in terms of the new livelihoods and jobs that round-the-clock electricity access has generated on the island.
The mini-grids replaced a lack of grid access on the island, an estuarine location that made conventional grid extension difficult.
