Sri Lanka's climate governance is currently policy-based, not statute-based: the National Climate Change Policy, updated in November 2023, sets seven mission objectives and is administered by the Ministry of Environment. Sri Lanka filed an NDC3.0 on 25 September 2025, covering 2026 to 2035. Sri Lanka has no dedicated carbon-market or forest and REDD+ instrument.
