Madagascar's environmental framework, the Charte de l'Environnement Malagasy actualisée (Loi n°2015-003, adopted 20 January 2015), is not climate-specific but recites that "le Changement climatique est une menace potentielle pour Madagascar et peut altérer les ressources climatiques à la base de nombreuses orientations économiques," and requires every sectoral text, policy and programme to account for climate change. Its object, under Article 2, is "de définir les principes et cadre général pour les acteurs environnementaux et les acteurs de développement."
